Sorry Frank, the bewildered herd is starting to wake up, and they are wanting their independence, without paying the artificial price tag.

Just like in Cardiff......the capital of Wales......where despite the buttonite assurances that standards wouldn't drop, errm they did.....knowledge tests, NVQ's, and many more hoops were placed.....and still the standards fell.

The fact is the deregulation experiment has failed......but not because of those entering the trade......its failed because councils wouldnt supply extra ranks, they wouldnt supply the extra officers, they listened to people who havent got a clue and have never worked at the coalface......pure and simple.

The latest approach in Sutton in Ashfield........Bristol......Clacton and other areas is perhaps the ultimate smack in the face to the cab trade.

These areas have never had the cherrypicking of fares.......they all have failed to provide additional rank space for the extra licenses they issued.....now they blame the cab trade for over-ranking and they will suspend drivers who are guilty of such.

They unleashed a monster, and have no idea how to deal with it.

There is one key flaw in the deregulators strategy......it doesnt f*cking work

De-restriction works in London, but the truth is you want the London model, to be seen as the exception, and not the rule.

Drivers are not here to prop up the illusions of those, who under normal circumstances, wouldn't survive in a free market.

How about letting the market speak for itself?

I would rather take my chances in the free market than exist as someone's lack-ey, by propping up their little illusion.

I know I would survive CC, but would people like you?

I'll take my chances :D

De-restriction fails as, a consequence of quality control not being sufficient to regulate the standard of demand. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. This is what it means to have control over your own trade.

The quality control in Cardiff......similar standards to Edinburgh I understand?

The trade could set the standard, but that would mean taking responsibility and accountability for itself.

The Edinburgh Taxi Trade tugs forelock to anyone they perceive to be in authority, and those scumbags on the council love it, and so do the vested interests.

A marriage made in heaven . . .

Hows jimmy boys ass, gary ?

CC, You have to realise that gary and jimmy boy are just two sad wee bitter men, Telling them derestriction does not work somewhere only makes them want it for Edinburgh even more.

They despise anyone who has made a better go of their life than them, and want to cause trouble for those better men.

They KNOW derestriction would be a disaster and that is exactly why they want it!

Their supporters in Edinburgh are NIL.

It is just two sad and defeated little men, trying to cause trouble to get themselves noticed, like a couple of toddlers!

They have been at this for years, No taxi company in Edinburgh will have anything to do with them and even the local rag has cottoned on to the fact that jimmy boy is a clown, So now they are lining themselves up with their new freinds at Edinburgh city private hire because they are the only ones who would gain .

What kind of idiots set out to try and destroy his own livelihoods.
Gary and jimmy boy!

De -restriction can work but the trade would have to take control of its own affairs, and not allow itself to be constantly at the diktat of the CEC. As for “better men”, surely you don't mean the pretendy business types who hide out on taxi forums behind pseudonyms. What's your real name Frank?

Each time we engage with the enemy we learn and adapt and become even more dangerous to the powers at be. This is what happens when you are at war Frank. Al Qaeda and the Taliban won't give up, and they will win the war in Afghanistan. We will win the war against the council and their pet scum bags.

Personally, I've enjoyed myself immensely fighting with the council. Learning through conflict is the greatest learning experience you can have, IMHO.

You are not fighting the council, gary, you are fighting your collegues.

But, as you are now past the point where anyone takes you seriously, what are you going to do now?

You think you and jimmy boy are some sort of legal experts, but if you had used your time more sensibly you could have become a qualified lawyer in the time you have put in to just being a nuisance.

But you have never been the quickest where it comes to education, have you?

Frank, the Justice system is a sham. It is not about truth and justice, it's about money. You buy your justice in this country. The system is simply a process to make money for lawyers. It might not be as bad as it is in America, but the principle is the same. Your so called justice system is a commercial entity that turns people into a commodity to be traded in a legal market place. Truth, has been little to do with anything for a very long time.

Oh and Frank, the lawyers you hold in such high esteem, I wouldn't pis* on. I've yet to meet one that was as smart as he thought he was.

I have learning disabilities Frank. That doesn't mean a lack of intellect or intelligence. On the contrary, I've been tested by the very clever people you put so much faith in, and they seem to think I'm a real smart arse. That I can live with.
