Jimbob, I think you're talking drivel, in actual fact I dont think you've got a clue.

All I have quoted has happened, in many cases what you would call 'quality' control has been introduced, new vehicles, increased testing, increased driver checks, DSA driving tests, CRB checks, driver medicals, BTEC's, NVQ's, you name it, its been introduced.

Why have these things been introduced Jim?

Is it because they wanted to prove their (your) experiment would work?

Is it because they've been introduced because they (you) knew standards would fall?

Deregulation leaves drivers with no alternative than to source radios from Private Hire companies.

Your response shows a breath taking ignorance of deregulation, in short you write like an inexperienced butterboy, and have the attitude of a typical wannaplate.

Too many taxis in London Jimbob?

TfL’s warning to cabbies: too many taxis at Waterloo Station!

There are too many taxi drivers with 'the knowledge' and not enough work.!

London...Late-night taxi shortage

Same old tosh CC. Protect yourself, protect your members and sod anyone else - especially the public.

You remind me of King Canute, trying to hold back the tide.
Better take your socks and shoes off, your feet are getting wet

The same tosh from yourself too.

The tide is turning....people have discovered the whole deregulation thing isnt what was described on the packet.......fines and supensions for over-ranking.....issues with pollution in city centres attributed to taxis...cabs repossessed......drivers being forced by finance to pay for radio systems...less choice for passengers in terms of prices.....

King Canute maybe......strange, you remind me of the tailor(s) trying to sell the Emperor some new clothes.

How come guy's like you and Jasbar alway's alledge we are against the public? Indicating we do not have the publics best interest's at heart!!!

Listen GUSMAC if cheap unintellectual shots is your game your not in the debate, this one is too intellectual for you :D

The public through survey's of demand will let us know when we need to increase the number of licences, not some anarchist like you or Jasbar.

If the public don't take an interest in Taxi politics it generally means they are HAPPY with the service. To say we don't care is a RIDICULOUS statement, when a punter leaves my cab after tipping me extra or not mentioning any problems they have with the Taxi service, that shows me that the punter must have appreciated my service.

There has been plenty of times throughout the taxi trade where punters complain about the lack of Taxi's, this is dealt with, if there is a complaint to be made the punters will let us know, the punter puts the food on my Table who puts yours on your table? you probably own a radio circuit!

Then do something about the real problem instead of harking back to the failed system of the past.
Any c*nt can have a taxi driver's licence but only the chosen few can own the cabs?
It didn't work before, doesn't work now and won't work in the future.

Ask a cabby anywhere if there are too many taxis and they will all say yes, whether there are or not.
Window cleaners and burger van owners will tell you the same about their trades.
Nobody outside the trade believes it anymore CC. It's just seen as the have's trying to keep out the have not's

It's simple.
End two teir licensing that allows some to license saloons and forces others to license WAVs. One standard for all taxis.
One taxi per badgeholder no badge - no cab licence.
Limit the drivers, not the cabs. Stop dishing out drivers badges like confettii and forcing the holders to hire a limited supply of vehicles from others.
Limit based on merit, not money or luck.

Reggie, you are the lightweight here. Put the toys back in your pram if you want a proper debate. If not, you and the others can keep making homosexual inferences about anyone who's opinion you don't agree with

The public have little interest in politics of any kind, least of all taxi politics. They want to go home and as quickly as possible.
If the public were happy with the service they were receiving, why are there so many PH cars in Edinburgh nowadays?
Because there is no demand for them? Get real.

The punters are letting you know. They are voting with their feet.
You have not been listening.

BTW I don't own a radio circuit. Just me and my cab.

Utter rubbish......I can't remember the Police being exactly on the Cab trades side of it when it comes to taxi numbers......yet in both Liverpool and Cardiff they asked the council to do something about cab numbers......too many cabs creating too many minor problems.....and they couldnt handle it.

What about the situation in virtually every deregulated area where there are too many cabs and not enough rank spaces.......I take it you want to see drivers get fined and suspended?

The probalem is......what me and others have said about deregulation is coming to a head.....and it doesnt suit the mindest / agenda's of some.

You fail to grasp that a percentage of drivers prefer to rent vehicles rather than run and maintain them.......they can hand the keys back to an owner anytime they wish.......should we ask these people to leave the trade because presumably they either cannot get credit or may not want such responsibility?

One standard for all taxis?.......which standard exactly?

Limit drivers? ffs how do you determine how many drivers should be in an area? How will you assess if the area needs more cabs?

Not money???? I cannot see manufacturers exactly giving their products away......I cant see that happening in Scotland either.

Any system better than the current system? Somehow I dont think so.

I'm all for a one tier system...

and i'm all for a limit on badges...The problem lies with LA's continually
using our Trade as a crotch to ease the pain of redundancy in their areas thus, making dole queue figures look good ! There's no point in us slowly wearing our finger-tips daily,by trading insults ! Lets channel the energy properly and, maybe, just maybe eh ?? :-k

Naaa.....I have one cab with one driver.....me!...I dont want another driver on my cab.

But your scheme has got merits........it's so bereft of any thinking its positively hilarious.

How did it go again......taxi drivers will have vehicles.....we dont know what type of vehicle but it will definately be a vehicle.

We will limit taxi drivers.......we dont know how many drivers there should be and we will take no account of how to assess this, but we want a limit on drivers nevertheless.

The coup de grâce is the actual thinking that all drivers have to have their own vehicles

I'm trying to be Wyatt Earp here....What about a National Ballot on what the Trade thinks ?? You could easily weed out the Leeches by requesting the Badge and Plate holders numbers from every LA. Then, insist on proof of badge and last P60 to vote and if your numbers don't add up well............Just a thought...Here's another one.......

Will i jump back in this fine malt bottle and come out with my Che Guevara head on !!! :doubt:
