Tx a wish you would make your mind up ,you have been at me to try and get a meeting organized to try and get the town capped. Your words were i am not bothered what types of vehicles are on the road because at the end of the day the government will decide which i agree with.
This is exactly why people do not listen or trust what you say, your comments also seem to be all about the DTA it is the Unite union members who have called for this meeting. It was also Chris elder of unite who made the comments to the press. It is also a wav operator with a tx who has asked for a fair increase.Maybe your dislike for Graeme is clouding your opinion
Tx along with me you are one of the biggest moaners about hours and earnings
.You are also for every telling me we should stick together, we may have a chance to achieve this at this meeting but comments like yours will not help. The DTA are not chairing this meeting in fact no one from the DTA will sit at the top table.
No point in closing the preverbial stable door now Tone.....As for top table...How can Mr Elder voice an opinion of a dozen or so Drivers and expect the Trade to back their greed and insanity ?? And the point i made was fact..the nunbers would have been capped and everybody would have been competing on a level playing field.
As for Mr. Stephen..
Dundee Taxi Association chairman Graeme Stephen said he has been forced to work double shifts, including going out on a Saturday morning and worked through until the nightclubs came out.
"I probably shouldn't say this, but i reallydo think there are safety issues" he said. " I notice myself that often sitting in the queues outside the nightclubs you see some of the drivers sleeping in their cars because they have worked such long hours. "You take a taxi because you want to get home safely, would you feel safe sitting in a car being driven by somebody who had worked for 14 or 15 hours that day ?"
Mr Stephen said the financial pressures facing taxi drivers in Dundee were illustrated by his experiences yesterday. He said he started work at 10am and by 2.30pm had only four fares totalling £24.
"That's not even profit." he said " You've still got to pay running costs, fuel, insurance and every thing else out of that. " The way things are at the minute it is practically impossible to make a living. You just can't do it."
I take it you never read the article Tone ??
You know as well as me there's no Punch without Judy !!!
And if any of them have the misfortune to fall asleep themselves at least their CCTV will provide ample evidence to allow the Police to successfully prosecute them !!!
