The 322 drivers already licensed by South Staffordshire Council will not have to pass the new test unless they lose their licence.

Imo this is a fair way of dealing with things although I do believe that drivers who have English as a second language should be encouraged to brush up on their English if they feel they need to by perhaps sourcing and providing free courses for them.

I have experience of many asian contacts where the wife, mother/father, grandad/grandmother have no english at all, the male head of the family speaks english and interprets for the others, with wives, there are so many arranged marriages with girls/women coming into the UK with no english also....

I used to do work for the ambulance service (outpatients) and also for a wholesaler delivering to corner shops, I rarely dealt with anyone (verbally) other than the "male head", others would be in the shop, taking money/sales, but couldnt speak english

in no other country in the world mate.......

Where I have my appartment in Spain there are loads of English people most of them don't even try to speak Spanish and will only use the English pubs and shops. Does that sound familiar?
