Again I point out that a survey has nothing to do with rape.

I never said rape was acceptable as is being alluded to in numerous threads, I therefore ask the moderators to delete the threads stating such and ban / reprimand those members who have stated such.

Until this is done I will not post on this site again.

I find it quite galling that Jim Taylor and Gary Thompson are using the rape of a innocent to further jusitfy their crusade, in actual fact, its quite sick.

Indeed, the seem to have missed the fact that some Edinburgh drivers have been fined by the police for over ranking and the council is considering suspensions........due to the current oversupply of taxis and the limited number of rank spaces.......yet, as ever, they want more taxis on the streets.

Same here, like I mentioned in a previous post, if the nightclubs and pubs worked to their licences and didn't serve people who looked like they'd had enough maybe there wouldn't be situations where women get assaulted.

Wayne,the simple fact is that these two idiots have found another subject to try and get what they want.
As disgusting as it is they have shown that there are no bounderies they will not cross to achieve this.
Their posts and comments are simply to get a reaction from the rest of us,well apart from the odd one or two and we know who they are.
You will notice that Jim comes up with the idea and Garry just runs with it.
You are probably aware that in the past Jim was quoted as saying,"more taxi's in Edinburgh would ruin the trade",then we have Garry who in the past had two plates then sold them and sold them for a tidy profit.
You couldn't have described Jim any better than you did,ie a "crank"
If you seen this vile little man driving his rented taxi you would see that he keeps his bile for the forum,as he has never given his views to any driver as far as i know but im sure, like Garry, he will tell you he is for ever talking to drivers and saying they all agree with them.
As far as looking out for the public and making sure they are all catered for is laughable,on one hand you have Jim finishing at probably the busiest time of the night when people,"young girls"are looking for a taxi and his reasons are because he had,"made his money",not much thought for the public there
Then you have Garry who does not leave the Haymarket rank,he will happily sit there hours on end waitng for a fare behind twenty cars,what about all this unmet demand
So Wayne just treet them with the contempt they deserve.
The sad thing is they will continue to spout there bile on here but after all they are the "crankies"

This happens everywhere and I don't think it's down to lack of taxis, it's more likely down to sicko rapists being out there and girls being silly and not ensuring their own safety when going home.

Outta of idle curiousity how many of you would take a young girl home who perhaps was extremely drunk and more so didn't have any money or not enough money to get home, but, you felt you should in case she gets raped if you leave her there to make her own way home? I doubt that rape is in the forefront of any drivers mind when saying no money, no taxi. It seems that some on here need girls to be raped to further their own agenda and to those drivers I think you're as sick as the rapists tbh. Before you ask how would I like it if it was one of my daughters well I wouldn't but I wouldn't be blaming a lack of taxis either. It is just one of those horrible things that happens in life and one can only hope, as a female, that it doesn't happen to me

Had she got a cab she would have been taken home. The fact is she couldn't get one and took a risk. She did what she probably does at home, got into a saloon type vehicle.

No council can claim to be protcting the public unless and until it has done everything it ca.

Edinburgh hasn't. It artificially restrcts taxis to protect its own and vested interests.

Edinburgh plays politicis with young females safety.

So if you are so concerned about young girls safety, stay out when the public need you,if you don't you will be to blame Jim how would you feel about that?
