If you jump in a streetcab off a rank or a radio hackney off a rank no difference no record to the office so your wrong. You also came out with a comment about council sting operations and putting a end to it.Do you know how many people got prosecuted guess 1 .Get your facts straight we have a lot more problems with ph, so my advice would be get a proper cab not a [edited by admin] !

I see your point about there being no record if you get in a cab on a rank, but if it's a company cab people tend to remember the name of the company and so have an additional line of complaint other than the council.

As for the 'stings' there were no prosecutions. Seven drivers were caught, three had warnings for not using the meter and charging a fixed fare, two got fined for overcharging/not taking the direct route and two had their licenses suspended for a week due to already having warnings for similar offences. All went before the licensing commitee.

Wrong again sasha there was a prosecution who had his licence revoked and various others with no charge. As for fixed fares very gray area as we can legally run a shared hire scheme with fixed fares. So as i say again try and get your facts right before you post something you obviously no nothing about !

I think you're wrong, you can run shared ride, but you better check how.

Sorry mate you mean fixed fares? We can legally run, we have a shared hire scheme which is a fixed amount per person between designated stops.

Had it for years runs between say tower to pleasure beach or tower to zoo with minimum of four.I think if you dig its hard to refuse a shared hire scheme. There is loads of grey areas like i say, have to display a notice (very few do)and not supposed to deviate from set routes which everyone does...
