I think the other moral of all of this is that clampers are utter scum.

You say they're vermin, but what would you do if your next door neighbour parked HIS CAR on YOUR PRIVATE DRIVE?

But that wasn't the case here, the lady had a permit, she lived there.

Anyone ever heard of restrictive covenants in the title deeds on modern estate?

You can't even have a fence up on our estate to separate land at the front of the houses, let alone gates!!

Didn't you agree to this covenant when you bought the place?

If you don't sign the covenant, you don't get the house.

put a sign up "parking £25 per day or part of" and invoice him

To do that I need planning permission for my drive to double as a car park; I wouldn't get planning approval!!

Why not just block him in, and maybe go away for the weekend?

They ain't that stupid.

They leave enough room behind the car so they can reverse & drive over a neighbours front lawn to get out.

Mind you that ar*ehole has gone now.

I appreciate that, but until you have someone park their car on your property & you find out that it's a long court process & there's nowt that the police can do, only then (and with gentle hints from the police), do you realise that there is a place for clampers in this society infested with ar*ehole parkers!!

let me get this right, you can't put a fence or a gate up where you live but you can put up plenty of warning notices warning that vehicles will be clamped? And of course clamping a vehicle on your drive will get it moved quickly wont it?

But this lady had the ability to prove she was a permit holder, yet the clamper was still determined to keep her vehicle clamped for hours.

What would you call someone who did that to someone car other than vermin and scum?

If you have a permit & don't display it, whose fault is that?

It's about redress!!

Park on my land & pay a penalty, because you shouldn't be there AND YOU KNOW IT!!

BY PARKING ON SOMEONES LAND YOUR TAKING THE F*CKING P*SS!!!

Also, note the police attended to keep the peace.

The clampers were doing nothing wrong, otherwise the police would have arrested them.

The woman eventually paid £80 because she was in the wrong for NOT DISPLAYING HER PERMIT!!

The woman didn't pay. Her boss did. The owner of the clamping company said today on the TV that she had lent her permit to someone else.

She was on radio 2 yesterday, it appears that she had left her car unlocked, and someone had been in, and moved the disc from its holder next to the tax disc and placed behind the tax disc
These [edited by admin] clamps would not do a thing like that would they
