The man has probably briught more foreign drivers into the country than any other person.

He wants to run ALL the taxi's in the country so look out.

Anyone who has met him will back me up on this. he is also involved with TAXIBANK.

Surely in the long term some might say that will effect his business.

I can't see in what context employing foreign private hire drivers has got to do with the Plymouth Taxi Trade? Doesn't Plymouth council license drivers and not Mr Preece? Was it not Plymouth Council who passed these drivers as fit and proper and gave them a license to drive a private hire vehicle? John Preece hasn't broken any laws you just want to criticise the man because you might not like the way he does business? You have the prerogative to voice your opinion as do we all but to suggest you wouldn't have a Taxi trade if the PLTA wasn't in existence, is not only disingenuous to those who work in the Trade but to those who might wish to work in the trade but are prevented from doing so because of Plymouths restricted policy?

I'm sorry but this statement is totally off the wall. In my opinion?

You're right I don't know Mr Preece but considering he is not here then someone has to play devils advocate and question the points that have no bearing on him being responsible for the actions of others.

It wasn't Mr Preece who passed these Eastern Europeans as fit and proper persons to drive private hire vehicles it was Plymouth council. Therefore he can hardly be held responsible for the policy of Plymouth council.

The Plymouth Taxi association doesn't exist because of John Preece it exists to protect its own interests just like any other organisation. Therefore the statements which were made by the poster were incorrect and needed balancing. Considering Mr Preece is not here to do that himself, I did it for him.

This site unlike other sites I can mention has a preference for all statements to reflect a degree of accuracy. That is tall order and unachievable by some but when something is said that is known to be inconsistent with the truth then sometimes people feel strong enough to rectify the matter.

That is purely my opinion.

Regards

JD

JD i have no problem with that and its good that you will do this, however i would like to see Mr preece on this site and see him answer a lot of Allegations, i think if this was to happen your viewpoint may well change, but i think pigs and flying spring to mind here, in regard to Mr preece joining

I don't think Mr Preece is the type of gentleman who is likely to involve himself in Taxi forums but if anyone has concerns over some his actions perhaps they should drop him a line?

JD
