hey stinky how ya doin just for your imformation tea room square doesnt belong to the council, it belongs to the people of york, like the barbican, but that is another story.
i intend in the near future to question them why the Transport Police have been given sole use of it to park there vehicles there. as for no one wanting to fight against the council i think you hit it on the head with deregulation and until there is alot of drivers willing to fight them every thing will be a losing battle

Ten o clock, as soon as the Council hang the sign

then we will have the hotel manager outside with a video camera, taking pics of cabs hanging around trying to earn a living, then phoning the coppers, then as they try to move us on most cabs are going to produce byelaw 9a, ply for hire where you want after 1900hrs.
it is reckoned that it will take the council 3 months to get a sign paid for and hung up

someone has nicked the Horse hackney carriage rank sign from the rear of the rank

I can't see who is going to police it, the hotel manager, dozy bar steward he will be the one who will police it

Listen, there are taxi lads laid out in Fulford burial cemetry who went down this line, this is not new, trying to beat the Council or the Railway company, its all been tried before and you will come to a sticky end, most taxi drivers won't put there hands in their pockets to fight for their rights, so we are loosers to start off with, we have to do as the council and railway company say

new drivers come into the job and think everthing is hunky dory as it is now and accept it, its not going to change, no not yet, but the sooner we get rid of Stn Taxis the better chance there is for all, believe me, Stn Taxis will go,

heard that the Hotel manager has applied to York City Council for planning permission to use the taxi rank which will be closed at 2200hrs till 0700hrs for resident hotel parking, so 8 car taxi rank =640 quid per year [80 quid resident parking fee for 1 vehicle payable to the Council], so pay the Council 640 quid a year, the hotels charges 10 quid a night to park one car

So object (legally) when his application is advertised in the press.
