ive a PH ops licence, if i were to rent a radio of another id have to give that up, which is strange when you think id then be sub-contracting off the base, them passing jobs to me yet id then have no ops licence...

pay attention

any owner of a plated vehicle is the operator surely? (in the very literal sense i.e. I OWN IT therefore IM THE OPERATOR)

but the rules say "if you work through or for another operator you hand your ops licence in" (or at least mine does) meaning i cant then take a booking (of any sort)

a base is an operator passing work to its owner drivers who dont have ops licences?

hows that work then?

They have an ops licence

so should every owner, cos they OPERATE the vehicle

They have an ops licence

so should every owner, cos they OPERATE the vehicle

I'm an owner driver but I don't have an ops licence that's why I work for a firm that does have an ops licence. I could indeed do both here if I choose to and the base I work from didn't mind :D
