She did, she sent a driver home once for having an offensive haircut, and another one, (and I think she was right) because he sh*t himself at work and the sh*t went through onto the drivers seat........and yes I did get the job of cleaning it!

At least there are standards in Carlisle then, even if they are janitorial!!

I admit I used to dress in T shirts and jeans, vests and shorts in summer but have smartened up with shirts and trousers these last couple of years since starting the airport transfer website.Once I landed a couple of accounts the ties came out as well.I have had some stick when on the ranks but passengers often comment how nice it is to see a Taxi driver well presented.
I wouldn't like to see a uniform introduced but drivers should have certain standards of their own.I could think of one or two who ought to start with toothpaste and deodorant!

Regards
Steve

The eau de ashtray has to be a real turn off.

I know I hate the passengers who (over)use this fragrance..

North East Lincolnshire Council ends cabbie shirt ban

Patriotic taxi drivers in North East Lincolnshire will be allowed to wear national football shirts during the 2010 World Cup, the council has said.

New rules on how drivers must dress, which come into effect on 1 April, ban them from wearing sports wear.

But the rule will be temporarily relaxed while the tournament is held in South Africa this summer.

A North East Lincolnshire Council spokesman said some drivers wanted to show support for their national teams.

He said the ban had been lifted given the "importance" of the event.

The council said the dress code would be relaxed from the beginning of June until the end of the World Cup on 11 July.

Executive director of community services, Andrew Milner, said: "Given the World Cup's importance and popularity, we have decided to relax the dress code so as to allow national football team shirts to be worn by taxi drivers, in celebration of and in the spirit of this sporting occasion."

Under the new rules taxi drivers in North East Lincolnshire must wear a shirt with a collar.

Banned items include ripped jeans, hoods and string vests.

All kidding a side i think being allowed to support your country by wearing and displaying your colours is a great idea and yes i am  that we will not be taken part

I have a friend who has just returned from visiting his brother in cape town he said that it was a bit scary at times. He thinks that supporters are going to be targeted by gangs and that there is going to be serious safety issues.

In that case, what is the point of wearing a football shirt at work? Who is the individual trying to influence?
