Yes, but your comments were inclusive in relation to the context of the debate. Your assertion was therefore "rape is reasonable"

:-|

No, the assertion is yours, I stated; that Edinburgh Council, by regularly surveying taxi demand.....and acting upon the results, were being reasonable.

CC

Within the context of the debate, the assertion is yours, survey, reasonable, rape.

You might have made a mistake in what you wrote, but you did write it and it, was in the context of the debate. :-|

What you stated, was in response to a debate over why women were being raped.

This was your assertion:

Quote:
I dared to air the view that Edinburgh Council, by regularly surveying taxi demand.....and acting upon the results, were being reasonable.

And within the context of the debate your assertion was that "rape is reasonable" as long as the council carried out a survey of demand.

At the very best, if it was not a direct assertion, then it was what you implied.

Your comment was not made in isolation to the debate. :-|

You've fU*ed yourself on this one CC. :-|

So your statement/ assertion was made in isolation, and not meant to be interpreted within the context of the debate?

Is this what you are claiming?

It just popped in when you weren't looking, out of context.   :D

BTW CC, if you look at the names of all of these bidders there was NOT ONE English sounding name. Now I know New York is a cosmopolitan city but it looks very much Ruskie and Eastern Bloc names that were the successful bidders in 2008. You have to ask the questions, where do they get the coin---we already suspect? Why does the NYC taxi authorities allow it--We already suspect?
CC, you are a journalist and you have already stated that you would like to see some of this system implemented. Now that you have the web page what parts of the system would you like to see taken on board by UK LA's.
I await your response or anybody else's.....

Thats true of New York.

But whose to tell. Perhaps Dougie would, in his plan, put in place some type of quality control, where plate holders would have to pass the knowledge test currently in place.

This would surely rid the system of those with little interest with the Edinburgh trade and ensure those willing to invest were actually qualified cab drivers?

Perhaps a pre-requistite that the medallion would have to be handed back once the owner retires could be another.

I dont know, but I'm sure Dougie will consider numerous matters.

The seem to call jaspar aka James Barclay Taylor 'mad jim'.....those guys are a hoot. :D

that guy torn casualty....now he's a total hoot;

Well as Skull and Jimbob have said in the past - the lack of denial means it must be true.
