You are deluded do you know that? your greed knows no bounds!!!

First of all tell me why you don't allow your drivers to rent the vehicle for 8 hours instead of 12 then? Afterall thats 4 hours per day vehicle overheads it's sitting idle saving you a 3rd of what your charging them?

Off course you know your greed has no bounds wheather the driver rents for 7 or 5 days is irrelevant a full time driver SHOULD pay the same rate no matter what day off the week he drives.

£75/£70 for a full timer at the weekends is a disgrace and the greedy owners out their wonder why certain drivers are now going about things in a different far more dangerous way than derestriction than you can every imagine,ie driving hours.
Well Oneeye,i don't know about the deluded part and there's certainly no greed on my behalf, you see i sold my taxi and plate back in September 2008.
My driver had a very good deal,he must have had,he drove my taxi for nearly 10 years and yes the weekends where part of his shift.
I'm not saying there's not some greedy owners out there, like everything else in life there's good and there's bad.
All i'm pointing out is that when you hear Gary telling everyone that the £300-£350 for a rental is the norm well,we all know it's not
Again the £70/£75 at the weekends,i am assuming this is with one of the big two companies ie city or central, just ask Jim and Gary, they certainly don't pay that for the weekend shifts.
Are you saying if you had your own taxi you wouldn't do a twelve hour shift Friday/Saturday?
If the dynamic duo had their way you would be doing twelve hour shifts seven days a week, and before we hear, "drivers choices and working certain hours through the busy periods" that argument is dead in the water, we all know everyone would be working the same busy periods which makes them less busy,ie more taxis looking for more work meaning more hours less money,FACT.
Ok saf lets start on the bold parts First of all you have been out the owning side 3 years now. I have just left 4 drivers in the past hour all who pay at least what I have qouted.

Secondly I could not care less what Jim and Gary say because imho they went about it in the wrong way.

What makes you think I have not got my own taxi? Is it because i'm a caring employer by anychance and do not want my employee's or my customers being in danger of a driver doing too many hours behind the wheel.

You employ drivers with a bona fide employment contract.....pay them 6 weeks holiday per year and an hourly rate of pay?

You are a generous chap.....wish there was more like you.

The thing that makes me think you are not an owner is the fact that you refer to the owners as being "those greedy owners"now would you say that about yourself if indeed you where an owner :?
So you do agree that there are "caring owners" :? ?
Do you think if you had your own taxi you would do less hours and why?
I'm glad you think the dynamic duo have went about it the wrong way,i would hate to think they had converted another poor guy
We will just have to take your word that the drivers you spoke to are paying these amounts but i think if you asked around you would have conflicting amounts.

What don't you get about qualified drivers having the right to own or drive without pricks like you fettering their choice?

Who the feck are you, you, little worm, but a name on a taxi forum?

Saf, I don't believe anyone would p*sh on you if you were on fire, let alone give you enough air to voice an opinion.

A qualified driver is just that, qualified, same rights, the same choice and asking for no one's permission to earn his living, least of all you.

Why don't you take your little illusion of being the big man and choke on it, you little [edited by admin]?

I sold my plate 10 years ago, and it was a different world back then. The Ph, were not a 1000 strong, and there was no shortage of shifts for drivers, and rentals were nothing like £300 a week.

However, what I believed back then holds true now. Unlike you shorty, I wasn't wallowing in my own ignorance. I knew plates were council property, and they had no intrinsic value. The whole pretendy wee business thing was an illusion for er*holes, to throw away their money until the plug was pulled.

Shorty, you're a fecking idiot
