Let drivers leave the Trade and offload the Part-timers..they're the reason you can't get on a rank ! and don't give me the demand quote ! cause the title of the thread says it all !!

Full time Operators/Drivers only, should get us through these times....

Gary,

I am no longer concerned about the limit one way or another, Events have caught up with it.

If people are saying this is what it was like last time it was opened up, then what is the limit protecting?

There seems to be not much point in a limit now.
If last time it was opened up it got as low as it could go, and it is the same now, then what exactly is being preotected.

It is only the plate value, that is all.
There would no longer be a rush of people to get taxis, the income is no longer good enough for that.

All that would happen is that current drivers might want to get their own taxi to keep costs down. You CAN run your own taxi for less than a rental!

Last year I would not have said this, but to remove the limit now would not drasticly effect a drivers earnings. The only people being protected now are current owners who want a rental from a driver who cant get his own plate, and worse still those owners who dont want to drive at all.
And judging by the rate jockeys are leaving the trade, they are going to lose that anyway. ME INCLUDED!

It's over ,
There are no reasons for things to improve.

Frank, I'm almost shocked, that's a pretty fair appraisal of the current situation. Welcome, to the real world Frank. :D
