2 Kids Same street it’s 3 Miles to Drop off school & I get £35 each way & Council have never had a problem

A massive blind eye is being turned by almost every council in the country.

The law is the law, and it doesn't matter if you are carrying pi** heads or special needs kids.

Personally I wouldn’t allow HC to do Contacted School runs as the Case in Milton Keynes if HC wasn’t allowed to do them I would say more than half the fleet would leave & go PH.

I have attached the proposed variation which has now been advertised
https://www.southampton.gov.uk/media/3z ... notice.pdf

What it says is that Hackneys in Southampton can work in the city without adhering to the meter for certain jobs.

Says on Plymouth City Hackney Tariff:

Hiring's may be undertaken without the use of the meter where there is a prior contract with a public authority or for a period in excess of an hour.

That has been on the Tariff since 2002 to my knowledge, and it probably was on there for many years before.

It is not influenced by the Plymouth 1975 Act, rather than the Misc Pro 1976 Act.

Someone has just told me that Plymouth doesn't abide by the 76 act and use their own one and that's why they can do it.

I put in my post above, the Plymouth City Council Act 1975, as opposed to the Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1976, have no bearing on it.
