I don't like the way councils' abuse their powers any more than he does but pandering to their egos achieves nothing meaningful. If the council understands you can hurt them politically by fighting them through the courts. They will not only give you what you want, but they will seek to have you as allies rather than having to go to war to make a point.

That being the case then the council should fear anybody with a bit money to waste. In my opinion it is far better to get settlement without going to court. Going to court should be the last option not the first. Incidently pandering to peoples egos works wonders

The council does fear people with money. The big War chest under normal circumstances sends them into a state of flight. If the challenger can't be intimidated and money is of no object, the council is almost certain to back down. Unless of course you are wanting something ridiculous that goes against public opinion.

What settlement are you talking about Toots? If you are referring to Trevor's agreement on section 52, then it is not worth the paper it's written on. Going to court should be the last resort if you are dealing with reasonable people, but the council is backed by the public purse, and they don't give a damn.

The only reason section 52 is being abused in the first place is because the council knows they can get away with it, without legal challenge.

Trevor and the boys did no more than the council expected under the circumstance, out comes the begging bowl. The toothless trade reps once again accept the scraps from the master's table, SNAFU.

How about this Toots, just for a bit fun.

Opinions are like [edited by admin]' Toots. Everybody's got one, but how many people have an opinion of their own?

Education in this country, is, for the most part, a system of imposed ignorance. A well trained robot gets a job as a Lawyer or an accountant. Poorly trained robots work in MacDonald's or drive Taxis. It's all about learning the process, and not about thinking for oneself. If you don't know the right questions to ask and can't see the failures in the process, how do you form an opinion that is actually your own?

Example: Toot's makes a complaint that a police officer assaulted her. Two officers, an Inspector and a Sargent call to investigate the complaint.

Toots, has already crafted a detailed signed account of events.

The officers, however, want to question Toot's while jotting down notes in their little black books and then want Toots to sign off on the complaint as the true version of events.

The real, detailed statement is consigned to the bin, and now the investigating officers have an abridged version to work on to reduce the seriousness of the complaint even further.

The whole process is about protecting police officers against complaints from the public and not proving wrongdoing against the police.

The above is exactly what you can expect if you ever do make a complaint against the police. The system's processes are set up to protect the police first, not you. It's the same with the political system. The first objective of any government is to control the populace. The Mr. T's and Wayne's of the taxi trade are, in fact, the problem and not the solution, they represent the system and the control it has over all of you.

Relax Wayne, don't take it personally. I know you don't know any better, products of the system never do. It's part of your social conditioning. That's the whole point.

You will never wake up
