You are a fine one to preach morality.
What Ali does is perhaps morally questionable, but what you do is obscene.
Ali is trying to undermine the system he hates and risks his money to do it.
You lie, scaremonger and bullchit, in order to maintain your position.
A position you have built on the hard work of others.
You know you are finished if delimiting comes to your manor.
You need this restricted trade, but the trade doesn't need you.
You're a worried man who can't allow anyone to kill off his golden goose.
And you would say or do anything to prevent it, wouldn't you?

Let me help you out Trev.
A fool is someone who believes your bullchit.

morally questionable yes but neccesary.
a greater moral goal perhaps.

still i could always just spout lies about trevs sons/daughters or grand kids whether they be true or not is niether here nor thier really is it.

but then that really would be below the belt, or would it.

You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you on the ar*e.... keep spinning the suckers on while you put the money in your pocket.... now that's the truth.

Trev, what part of anything have we ever tried to hide? It's the council and the vested interest that spin everything to suit their own agenda, not us.

Skull.. you never tried to hide anything, you're usually very honest, not necessary right in your views in my opinion, which is more than I can say for others with their own financial agenda, that is why you're the only one I have any time for...

I'm prepared to debate this Trev.
You are the one who will not justify his stance and covers it up with insults.
People can decide for themselves who the wimp is.

Call me a fool if it makes you feel better.
I'm not the big taxi baron of Sefton, sitting on a fortune in plates and a cosy relationship with the LO and council.
I don't have an image to worry about either.
To me, you are just a greedy little man, desperately clinging to what you believe is yours by right.
I don't particularly care what you think of me. You aren't that important.
I'll just keep saying it as I see it.
If people think I'm a fool, so be it.
I get called far worse most nights of the week.

It does not surprise me that you're unpopular with your customers, and it's your fantasies that confirm your the fool.

Now whatever gave you that fantasy?
My customers are the travelling public. I get on just fine with most of them.
Your customers are taxi drivers. I doubt they think so highly of you.

Whatever you think, Trev. As I said, your opinion just isn't that important.

Dundee use to regulate the number of taxis and it didn’t allow corporate status of a licence; this in turn meant that when the operator retired or passed away the license would be returned to the council. The council also had a waiting list for driver’s who wished to apply and the first on the list paid his fee and received the said licence. Dundee de-regulated in 1999, and still it, is de regulated, and I can assure you that I personally don’t know of any operator out there who is happy with de- regulation, which also includes all of the drivers who were waiting on the councils list to apply.

Don’t think for one minute de- regulation is the answer to all your problems as it only amounts to longer hours for a lot less money.

Sounds braw, but the reality was a bit different - presumably you weren't in the trade at the time or you're gilding the lily a bit?

The fact was that many plate holders had barely driven a taxi for five minutes or had perhaps never driven one, and then they had control of the trade until they died, which could have been fifty years down the line, or even longer, since there were cases of dead men holding plates?

It was only delimitation that watered that down slightly, but isn't it still the case that the parasites still control a lot of the saloon plates?

Yet you want to make that worse again?

Anyway, unless you hire drivers why should it matter to you if they have their own plate or are in someone else's motor - it doesn't affect your takings.

It's also worth pointing out that, unlike in places like Edinburgh and Glasgow, NONE of the leeches in Dundee have ever payed a penny for a plate - they all got them direct from the council.
