lol an ego earned by hard work and one which benefits the taxi trade as a whole. Just imagine if I hadn't arrived on the scene, you wouldn't have all this case law that you can access at the touch of a button, those five cab drivers in Scotland would not have their licenses and those cab drivers in Carlisle would not be ranking up on the busiest cab rank in town and many more which you do not know about.

I think I have proved my worth and I don't need an ego to trumpet my accomplishments in such a short period of time.

I might add, all done for free.

the drivers in Carlisle knew for many many years before you that that particular rank was illegal... they even have the barrister's opinion stating so from the time it was implemented.... but it suited them at the time not to make a fuss....

If a person couldn't afford to buy a vehicle in a "restricted" authority then they obviously wouldn't apply for a proprietor license. They would be in exactly the same position as they are in now. The only difference being is that there would be no multiple owners and plates would be worthless by virtue of their non transferability. Drivers who wish to obtain a track would do so from an existing owner instead of a multiple owner, therefore nothing changes except you would have to drive one of your own cabs if you wanted to retain its license. Don't you agree that that is the best way of redistributing hackney carriage plates, in restricted authorities?
