Incentives to make use of taxi service

A SOUTH Cheshire taxi driver has come up with a pioneering loyalty scheme to reward his regular customers.

Passengers using Strikers Private Hire Taxi Service get a “fiver from the driver” once they have collected enough stamps.

Alan Brock, who started up the company 18 months ago, said: “When the customer is collected they will be given a card which will then be stamped by the driver. They keep this card and each time they are collected it will be stamped. When it has been stamped 10 times they will receive £5 back from us.”

Alan, of Sharnbrook Drive, already has an incentive scheme for passengers using his company for airport runs.

The 56-year-old cabbie, who was a milkman for 30 years, hands out a home pack to customers when he takes them back from the airport.

“This was my wife Maureen’s idea,” said Alan. “The pack includes bread, tea, sugar, coffee, milk and a newspaper for when they get home.

“We do it because when you get home after being away you always need these things.”

Maybe the company upped the price to cover this little wheeze....the refund will probably be built into the fare somewhere and unless all customers take advantage of it, it may well make more money from those that fail to claim the Drivers Fiver than the true loyalty reward scheme actually costs.

Its a true Saying.." theres no such thing as a free meal"
