Post subject:  Post Bus question..

Just noticed a Post bus in my area, as im mostly a Rural PH its got me to thinking How come its legal for a small ASTRA Sized post van with a row of seats to allow it to carry 4 Passengers to be used as a Post Bus if it isnt " destination or route number Signed" like a Scheduled Bus service would have to be, in reality its a Cross between a Taxi, PH and a post van, I guess it can pick up anywhere on its postal route either by being waved down or maybe pre booked. If it were the other way round would a Bus, taxi or PH be able to Act as a post van?.

Seems most unfair to me that these vehicles run by the Post office can steal Customers away from Rural Taxis and PH,s and we cannot then compete on a level playing field because of it...

The post office hold an operators licence (or more than one) and have to register routes etc with the traffic comissioner. They usually are in very rural/remote area's where a normal bus sevice or taxi service would unviable.
