TAXI driver has been banned from being a cabbie in Erewash after being caught speeding four times. Erewash councillors refused to allow him to renew his taxi licence after hearing how he had clocked up 12 penalty points on his driving licence. The hearing of the Erewash Licensing Committee was held in private and the driver's name was not released. He has the right to lodge an appeal, which would be heard by magistrates. |

Where is that and how exactly is it pronouced cos I just keep tittering to myself when I say it
On a serious note the driver should have been banned. It's not the speeding that's the problem but being dumb enough to get caught four times

Hanging is too good CC The best thing about it is he can appeal then get his badge back while he's waiting for his appeal to come through. Sounds daft? It is but it's true. |

He can only carry on working, during the appeal period, if the council allow him to. Road Safety Act changed a few things other than the repeal of the sec 75 opt-out. |
