The BTEC qualification seems to be doing the rounds around the country and is of concern to a lot of people. Bournemouth have a few drivers going to court over it - has anyone heard anything concerning the case?

I've not heard anything new from Bournemouth, but on the broader issue I think this lark might well be killed off by government cutbacks.

I mean if it's a choice between a new Sixth Form, or millions wasted by so-called educating folks in the cab trade, TBH it's a bit of a no brainer for the gov. :?

Apparently in court the LO said that the courses were unanimously approved by the trade at a packed meeting when in fact only 9 taxi drivers were invited and most turned out to be course providers

I was always told that a Labour gov would interfere and ruin the cab trade, where a Conservative one would appreciate those doing the job must make a viable living from it, in hindsight I really wish John Major had won back in 97, but that's why hidsight is so wonderful isn't it.
