SCHOOL-age girls on nights out should have their own taxi queues, say the Girl Guides.
Girlguiding Scotland insist the ranks are needed in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen ? which all have nightclubs for teens ? to keep girls safe from rowdy adults.

The group has held talks with police after a poll found many young women don?t feel safe around drunk grown-ups, and a quarter have had trouble getting home after a late night.

One in six have ended up taking a lift with someone under the influence of alcohol.

The ranks would be marshalled. Girlguiding Scotland?s Margaret Winter said: ?It would make them feel safer and stop them taking risks, like accepting lifts from people they don?t know.?

Glasgow City Council said it would be happy to discuss the proposals. Edinburgh said it already ranks with marshals, but not just for girls.

Toots doese this happen to you alot

A SOCCER starlet has been accused of flashing his tackle at a woman taxi driver.

Queen of the South defender Gerry McLauchlan subjected the cabbie to a torrent of abuse after a night out with team-mates.

The cab driver was forced to lock her doors and drive to a police station.

Shaven-headed McLauchlan, 20, was arrested and later admitted breach of the peace and was given a £40 fixed penalty fine.

The incident happened as McLauchlan, Queens striker Stewart Kean and another player took a taxi to Drongan, Ayrshire, after a night out in nearby Ayr.

Last night, the shocked cabbie was too upset to comment.

But a colleague said: "Some of these third-rate footballers seem to think they're Ronaldinho and that entitles them to behave as badly as they like.

"The driver was so scared she contacted colleagues on her car phone who told her to lock the doors and drive to the police station.

"This guy's behaviour went far beyond what is acceptable or funny. He's nothing but a disgusting and bad-mannered lout."

A spokesman for the Dumfries club said: "We don't know anything about this. I will be relaying this information to the chairman."

A police spokesman said: "We can confirm a 20-year-old man was arrested and issued with a fixed penalty notice in connection with an alleged breach of the peace following an incident in a taxi."

Yesterday, McLauchlan denied flashing at the cabbie on February 4.

The player said: "We were just winding her up and she took offence.

"She accused us of a lot of things. None of that happened.

"I didn't get a fixed penalty ticket - we got a warning for shouting and swearing. That was it."

No not at all. In fact most guys are very protective and concerned that I'm driving at that time of night even the drunken ones. If there is a loud or rude member in the car with friends the others tend to keep them in check. I do get lots of compliments and lots of guys saying that if I was their girlfriend they wouldn't let me do this job :D
