Does any one think this is a good way of protesting,I think Dundee's rolling road blocks certainly raised the profile of our concerns and maybe if we had kept it up we might have had a better result.

It has an effect, and done outside the council offices just before they all go home does increase the effectiveness. :D

I think a well done is in order .. just for the fact they managed to get so many PH and cabs to agree to all turn up and protest. normaly in this trade its hard to get more than 2 people to agree to do anything as a body.

I take your point on the above but you would have far more effect if you did it just before anyone starts work :shock:

The point being is that the employers/business sector could not care less what time you get home - but to start work late and effect business/profitability - now that would be just not on! :roll:

Sounds a bit like the Tories who think if we just move a bit more to the Right then we'll get elected, and Labour who think that if we just become a bit more socialist then the votes are in the bag.

No, but that doesn't stop me worrying about them taking control of my homelands and the future consequences.

Would the RBS be around today if the SNP had achieved their goal of independence?

To put the point more directly, tone, did these roadblocks actually achieve anything other than a few headlines in the Tully?

I don't think they actually achieved anything concrete other than alienate lots of members of the public, so it's maybe just as well that the polis made you keep on the move so it wasn't really much of a roadblock at all.

That and the talk of scabs makes it all look like an attempt at mob rule.

You just cannot sit on your backside and do nothing when it was clear that the trade was getting a raw deal I think it did highlight the problems that the taxi trade had.

There is still a lot going on in the back ground and you might see a different attitude from SNP towards the trade.There has also been things going on to try and raise the profile of the trade( giving blood,And our day out for kids) maybe these protests were wrong but when you are pushed into a corner you have to do something.

Also When you get a driver boasting that he made 400 pounds on the night of the strike it is not going to go down well with drivers who did not work.

A Scab is a Scab and we all know who they are. $hite like that will need our help sometime in the future and as far as I’m concerned they can go & F*ck themselves
