Post subject:  NTA Individual Membership

Letter sent out to those currently on the NTA email list;

Dear Colleague,

I have been told by the Directors of the NTA to remove any person from the list who is not a paid up NTA member, I am sending this email to all on the list as notification that addresses will be deleted from this coming Monday.

I have been reminded by the Directors that nobody should have been on the email list who were not a paid up member as of 31st March this year, for this, I naturally apologise to members.

As you will be aware, the NTA membership discussed individual membership at its AGM in Eastbourne this week.

The membership agreed that the fee for membership is £36.50p per year, this equates to 10p per day.

Individual membership is outlined within the NTA's company rules, as a member you are entitled to one vote at the AGM and inclusion on the mailing list.

I attach a membership application form.

Regards

Wayne Casey
Administration Officer

The NTA articles in connection with individual membership state;

(2) Individual

Applications for membership of the company shall be considered from individual licensed taxi proprietors following vetting from one of the Company's regional officers/committees and only if the proprietor fits the following criteria can they be accepted as members of the company;

(i) they are individual taxi proprietors who own and operate at least one licensed taxi in an area where there is no other member of the Company, or if there shall be such member or members those members consent to such taxi proprietors being admitted to membership; or

(ii) they are individual taxi proprietors in an area that has no constituted member Taxi Association;

(iii) the application has been thoroughly vetted by the appropriate regional officer.

Good, but one has to ask as to why this didn't happen years ago? :?

Individual membership has always been there, but the cost has been prohibitive.

I could be a dual member.

Then onto the GBC column in Taxi Talk, in competition with Bernie May of course.

I could name it The Primark debate. :wink:

I think you would be well suited to such rag.

Present company excepted ( :roll:), but most of the written pages are having a go at what someone else has said previously.

It would be refreshing if some of the folks could take a lead and propose something every now and again.

Or do they only feel safe taxi talking about the past? :-k
