Maybe they will keep the add for George Galloway's programme :)

On last Friday nights programme he ripped into BA executive Walsh, i don't like George but he certainly backs the unions.

Obviously you're avoiding the subject of murdering the queen and not being as successful in other areas then

Good move!

Why? :?

Now I know there wouldn't be a flood from that particular section of the trade, maybe not even a trickle, but in my view the GMB should represent every one in the trade.

I believe that as the GMB PDB in the London region represent London licensed Private Hire and the RMT represent H/C that they don't recruit from each others catchment area. Although I could be corrected.

Why not? Surely everybody is entitled to choose the representation they wish to have and not be delegated due to area :?

On behalf of Terry Flanagan, London Region GMBPDB Branch Secretary

The question is asked why do we decline Hackney Carriage in the PCO area the answer is simple this divided workforce already at the time of the GMB Professional Drivers Branch formation had too many organisations representing them T&G LTDA LCDC and some smaller right wing inclined outfits. We took the decision that to enter that arena would be non productive for those that joined and us, not suprisingly we received many calls form Drivers requesting membership they admired our militancy and left wing stance.

We declined them all and suggested that Bob Crow of the RMT might be interested! it appears he was,

Not suprisingly our sick pay scheme attracted much attention and well in excess 200 PCO licensed cab drivers are members of it, they can access it by virtue of their wives membership of the GMB.

To sum up we believed that in that arena we would be unlikely to assert any major influence, due to its already fragmented situation.
