I wonder if the £100,000 donated to the Tories by Addison lee owner has been for political favours. As we now know that private hire will not be effected by the equality bill. . I am sure £100,000 pounds donated is far cheaper than having to replace all his vehicles to wavs :?:

Statement by John Griffin he said he had given £100,000 through his Addison Lee minicab business in the belief a Conservative government would be “positive for business”. i bet it is

He is as true a Tory as you will find, so donating that sort of money is of no surprise to me.

TBH I think a minicab/taxi firm should keep out of all that donating lark, as you will pi** of one lot of customers either way.

But it's his money.

Well his donation to Boris's mayoral campaign 3 years ago has helped him no end.

As they say a fool and his money are easily parted I cannot understand anyone giving these vast sums of money to political parties do they really get anything much in return ? or do they just think they do !

The ammendment to the equality bill was rather quick, and that Tory from MK seems to have dropped the PH returning to base idea.

That seems quite sensible to me. I mean could you imagine all of Delta Cars returning to base

They probably should considering the amount of work they do there. Perhaps it should be the case that an office should be based within the area that they actually do most of their work. I also think that PHV should return to their licenced area (rather than their actual base) upon completion of trips out of their area
