Bristol airport to offer more transport options


Bristol airport has announced that it will offer more transport options for its passengers this year as a result of a new five-year deal with Checker Cars.

The company, which is one of the UK's leading taxi operators, also provides services at major airports such as Gatwick and Stansted.

As a result of the new contract, Checker Cars will be able to secure a fleet of vehicles including new minibuses and executive vehicles which will improve its efficiency and lower emissions.

Passengers will also benefit from a new e-ticket machine being installed on the arrivals concourse at Bristol airport, which is intended to reduce queuing in the taxi office at busy times.

Bristol airport's ground transportation manager Ian Hiles said: 'This new agreement will deliver improvements to passengers and to local communities around the airport. It increases customer choice and will improve the process by which arriving passengers can book a taxi for their onward journey from Bristol airport.

'Alongside the recently agreed improvements to the Flyer bus service, this enhanced taxi service forms part of a greatly improved transport offer to passengers.'

Carriers including Continental Airlines, Air France and easyJet operate flights to New York, Paris, Barcelona and several other destinations from Bristol.
