ive been reading with interest the multi plate holding topic.

perhaps it would be better if plates where not granted to individuals.

instead the council owns and operates all taxi's
or you provide the taxi and rent the plate on a weekly basis :D

you arrive at a central holding compound your credentials are checked and you rent the taxi for the market rate from the L.A
say £150pw taxi and plate
£50 plate

heh presto problem solved

whatever the problem was eusasmiles.zip

Sounds similar to my idea (objective the same) concerning the council charge a new licence fee granted of say £40k, you turning AliT

My idea though, upon retirement the licence holders has a way of getting there money back for all the years of investing in a new taxi, paying circuit fees.

That is what the value of the plate at the moment is, a sign of the commitment to invest in a new taxi every 7 or 8 years (£35k at mo), doing this 4 or 5 times in a career deserves some kind of financial reward/pension at the end.

We as self employed pay in to our own pensions whilst public sector and private sector have their pensions paid for by us muppets.

Ali the value of the plate cannot increase any higher, lets keep it at that level so as all the hard working guy's in our trade have at least some pocket money at the end of our careers.

De-restricting/losing the value doesn't bare thinking, i will be working more years than i have to if i lose the value of transfering my business, what if i get seriously ill and can't work, my family is screwed, at least a couple of years income would ease the strain (don't comment on this point jim i know you are a sicko).

I'm happy with the plan as it is, the PHC can be wiped out and with regular survey's of demand the trade will find it's level.

Wiping out the PHC will over the next 10 years put possibily 200 more blacks Taxi's on the road.

Lets take it one step at a time, coming together to wipe any significance the PHC have. Survey's of demand will do the rest, lets show the rest of the U.K we Edinburgh are NUMBER 1

I know it's coming on the back of that statement but eh keep it clean

Ali, the council already owns and operates all taxis. And it does so without paying sick pay, National Insurance, pensions etc.

It's got the cheapest deal while holding us by the baws.

You have to hand it to them.

By creating an army of Dougies they get there way.

The only nigglers in the woodpile iareTaylor, the Skull, Ali T, Gmac and a few others et al.

But MacAskill will do Private Reggie's bidding. Because MacAskill is an honourable man and he doth respeceth Edinburgh's prominent business Dragon

The size of my army is 98% after you've just named your dream team  :D (CC take note of this dream team, i've readjusted my figure, less than 1/2 a % agree with Jim 1 1/2% are undecided) I may use this confession when defending the 98%

I and the 98% don't mind being held by the baws if it's fair and without discrimination :D I'm a big boy now i can be TRUSTED to pay my NI, pensions and put a way a bit for an emergancy and eh i don't mind a bargain at that, i do think the council should be charging more for a new app :D

Kenny doesn't talk for solely me, he talks for the 98% when he say's "BUT IT'S HERE".

Jim, Skull, AliT,Gmac and the FEW others i'm not going to tell you anymore to give up your on a loser, CARRY ON (comedy style) CHAPS i've been waiting years to be proved wrong, we are waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting aw Feck this i'll be still waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, it's not worth waiting anymore, in another 5 years "YES" i still be waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, has de-restriction happened yet oh feck i'll be waiting and waiting and waiting, i give up there is only so long a man can WAIT, thank [edited by admin] i didn't put money on it, you know protect my interest cover my bets because you know what i will be waiting and waiting and waiting, getting the message, Dirty dozen (if that)
So CARRY ON CHAPS       :P
