That's quite amusing, a posting about a communist invasion from the GMB rep. I thought you would welcome that with open arms Mick.

I'm not quite sure what's different from this particular TX4 to the next one though?

I'm told the taxis for the UK market are still assembled in Coventry, but the parts are mainly imported from China.

Skippy is (for once) quite correct, the new front and rear lights on the latest TX4's look a lot brighter and clearer than the previous clusters.

A good source told me that the black and white one was assembled in China, and shipped over with three others to test in the UK.

No doubt someone in London will be driving one soon, with or without his full knowledge.

Well if they are built and fully assembled in China, they'll have the Mitsubishi engines, opposed to the VM ones.

I think some form of announcement would have been made or leaked to the trade, after all LTI has publically stated the Coventry line would still be assembling the TX4's for the British Market.

I'd welcome a different power unit though, even a petrol one should be on the cards as the costs of diesel is so high.

At a meeting at M&Os last week they said the VM engine is here to stay until 31st December 2011. On 1st January 2012 euro 5 comes into play with an updated VM engine that meets that criteria. It won't be the same engine as the 2011 one though.
Knowing LTi it was probably a lie but that's what they said.

There are two cabs on test with different front and back lights and other cabs will be introduced in the future with other changes because they want to test different parts on the cabs possibly to see if they last longer than the crap normally made in the UK.

Until the petrol sales increase then it will be back to more per gallon than diesel.

I saw the one with the new back lights the other week at Euston. Bright!

Shame they never saw fit to trial the Mitsubishi engine over here, it may have pushed their sales up.
