Sounds all good but we all know actions speak louder than words.I suppose the suspending of satellite offices is a start . Dose anyone think this response by tfl is a direct link to the protest

Its a start but not nearly enough to tackle this ever growing menace. Unfortunately the genie is well and truly out off the bottle and we are in a proper mess, mainly due to past and present administrations in authority and [edited by admin] poor trade representation.
Fortunately like minded drivers from the LTDF are prepared to sacrifice a few hours work and demonstate to attempt to save our proud trade and traditions. Roll on next Wednesday. P.S. Be nice for GBC to show his support for his trade and attend like many other LTDA members did.
P.P.S This demo was wholly organised by the LTDF. NOT THE RMT. It was a union/association free zone. |

Thats why I only saw RMT reps both in the video and handing out flyers last week? No thanks, anything that even has a hint of the RMT \ EDL about it, I'll be staying well away. What i will say though, is i'd have thought about the location and what happens when the police start to move cabs as they will inevitably do at every demo. Look at the roads from the aldwych, how do you get back to the venue when moved? Not easily. |

When the UTG feel the need to do so, you'll be first to know Eze. Still in the RMT? |

Still in the RMT? Sorry, not interested in party political politics in any way, shape or form. I support what I feel to be the correct course of action without the need of any union/association telling me otherwise. FREE THINKING....you should try it some time. eze - (the unshackled one)

Since you're not a member, you'll have little interest on what my chosen outfit is doing, just as much as I have any right to know what the LCDC or the RMT are planning / doing. What I can say is that as a paying member of the LTDA, I'm more than happy with what our lot do for my £16 a month. Out of interest, and providing you're still driving that 22 year old Metrocab, don't you think by joining an association, RMT or whatever, that they would be in a better position to campaign on any future age limit, oppoosed to being a single voice on the matter? |

If so then when is the demo, I will be there! |

They have replied to the current consultation as have other trade bodies and individuals to say 10 years is too little. I can't see any reason to hold demos against something that hasn't even gone ahead yet and is still at the consultation stage.
Perhaps that could be the theme of the next RMT drive in next week or whenever that may be. Why waste a demo? |
