A fleet of 25 Rolls-Royce Phantoms worth more than £6 million will line up outside a London hotel today – for a spectacular retirement party.
The man who has organised the convoy of automotive royalty, Saleem Iqbal, of Platinum Executive Travel of Birmingham, said it would be a unique occasion.
“I have never known so many Rolls-Royce Phantoms in the same spot at the same time,” he said.
“We have six Phantoms – one of the biggest fleets in the country – but I have had to bring in the others from other companies we deal with all over the country. It is going to be some event.”
Mr Iqbal, whose executive car hire company is based on Coventry Road, Birmingham, said he had been told the event had been organised to celebrate the retirement of one of the directors of one of the world’s best known drinks firms.
“The cars will pull up at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London at 5pm today and take guests around the corner for dinner. After dinner they will take them on to a top London night club.
“I understand there are guests coming in from all over the world.”
Mr Iqbal said the cars would be on call for just six hours – costing the company concerned around £40,000.
“We have been in business for three years and deal with all brands of up market cars but this will certainly be the largest event of its kind that we have been asked to organise.”
