I think this forum, at least as far as the Scottish section is concerned, has reached a crossroads where the administrators must decide whether they want to continue to allow and support the narrow minded and insulting views of skull and jasbar and see the sidelining of others with much more diverse, reasoned and open opinions or do something to rein these idiots in.

That is not to say that they should deny free speech but should they not intervene when lies and mistruths are made regarding others?

As an example, jasbar continues to misquote Lady Smith's words for his own nefarious purposes.

As Lady Smith sentenced Manzoor Hassan to five years for the attack, what she did say was :- "What she [the victim] needed was a licensed taxi to uplift her and take her safely back to the hostel where she was staying. What she did not need was the nightmare experience which followed, an experience for which you were entirely responsible." These words, purely to emphasise the contrast between the victim's needs and what happened. Taylor has repeatedly used only the first part of this quote erroneously and sickeningly to support HIS campaign. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THE FULL TEXT COULD OR SHOULD BE INTERPRETED AS COMMENT ON THE ABILITY OF THE TAXI SERVICE TO PROVIDE AN ADEQUATE SERVICE.

His obsession with rape and other sexual inuendo now seems to overshadow his previous obsessions with derestriction and his attacks on councillors and many other individuals who have done far more for the taxi trade than he ever will.

His latest attack on Wayne Casey and the support for it from, who else but, skull, shows them up for the perverts and liars they really are.

So Alex and Dusty/TDO/Sussex tell us whether you are going to intervene here or just let skull and jasbar continue to run rampant over you and everyone else? Even free speech has limits.

I take it that you want them here to be like clowns to laugh at.

That was the only reason anyone could come up with for them to stay on "fastblacks" before they were kicked off!

But all this rape talk is beyond bad taste.

they have both been on other taxi forums and banned from them

yes they have a right to post on here but they just do the same thing here

you try and get into a discussion or debate, they never ever answe questions directed at them, they either plead they're above the person asking so don't answer, answer a question with the same answers over and over yet the answer they provide has no relevance to the question or misrepresent offical quotes for they're own good(ie lady cosgrove) or just hammer out insults if they can't answer

Why do I visit the Scottish section? Well Jinky, guess what? I work in.................................Edinburgh.

I know a lot more about these banale idiots and their stupid campaigns than you.

What is their master plan really? For the council to get so pi$$ed off that they deregulate numbers just for peace.

They have no regard for those who use taxis, those who own taxis, those who drive taxis or girls who get attacked. All one of them wants is revenge on the trade for some past incident, while the other just wants to be famous for anything.

I doubt either will succeed.

You know we will, and that's why you're on here trying to put off the inevitable.

Poof, no more plate value.

There has been plenty more, and bigger, rucks on TDO than what we are witnessing at present.

Maybe Mr Jasbar and Mr Skull have a more robust nature than most of us, and maybe to many they come across as extreme.

But is that down to what they have had thrown at them by people they are now aiming their fire on?

Who knows?

My view is that what Mr Jasbar and Mr Skull are fighting for is a worth-while cause, and TBH I can't see why more folks don't support their 'equality for all drivers' crusade.

Instead folks are concentrating their wrath on the personalities of Mr Jasbar and Mr Skull. Which is fair enough, but what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

And FFS wouldn't TDO be boring as f*** if we all agreed? :D

Why?

Lady Smith's words can be distilled into:

What the girl needed was a Licensed taxi.

What she got unlicensed vehicle with perverted driver.

And you don't think she would consider an artificial restriction on taxi numbers relevant?

Particularly when read in conjunction with the BPG, which says that onerous licensing requirements can have implications for public safety, for example by tempting people to use unlicensed vehicles.

That's not an unreasonable interpretation Swanee, surely?

Unless Toots is in fact Lady Smith in disguise

NOWHERE does it say that she PLANNED to get a taxi.
In fact she intended to WALK.

Therefore how many taxis were available is neither here nor there.

She did indeed NEED to get a taxi (or phc or bus), but she chose NOT TO.

We cannot FORCE people into taxis.

Eh?

The report in the Scotsman said:

"She was waving her arm, looking for a taxi and got into Hassan's car."

http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/edinbur ... 6171988.jp

The BBC said:

"Advocate depute Derek Ogg QC, prosecuting, said the student was trying to hail a taxi in the early hours of 1 February last year.

"She made her way to South Bridge and got into the back of Hassan's car."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edi ... 631990.stm

That's clear enough, surely?

It was not her initial intention to get a taxi, she got to south bridge before trying to hail what she thought was a phc. but she was too drunk to notice that it wasn't.

The comment about "the girl needed to get a taxi" were clearly pointing to the fact that she should have done this initially.

There was no shortage of taxis on that night!

We are taxi drivers, not policemen, and are not responsible for looking after the drunk and incapable.

People need to take responsability for their own actions.
If a girl has too much to drink, her friends leave her alone, and she gets into a private car of a stranger, THAT IS NOT THE RESPONSABILTY OF A TAXI DRIVER!

Can we talk about taxis now?

It is a taxi forum after all.

I'm bored with all this rape crap.

Don't call a taxi, call a policeman.
