I was browing through the Scottish procurement when I seen this Tender Invite...it made me think that the present Scottish government will do anything it can to persecute the Scottish motorist in its finacially suicidal pipe dream to become the greenest place on earth.. Abstract: Transport Scotland, an agency of the Scottish Government, is seeking Expressions of Interest from contractors interested in being invited to tender for the above contact.Summary of aims and objectives:1) to establish how much, if at all, changes in car parking supply and pricing affect public transport usage and what alternatives would be used in the absence of formal car parking facilities;2) if a relationship is found for the above, to assess to what extent car parking can influence modal shift from private to public transport, with the subsequent impacts on emissions and congestion;3) to assess the importance of the factors which influence park and ride usage;4) to investigate how car parking availability can lead to undesirable outcomes such as increased car use;5) to establish optimum charging policy to maximise car-park revenue. Tis quite obvious that they intend to make car parking so crazily expensive and so impossible to find that we car driving plebs will have no option but to take the Bus or Train...the Assh*les... |
