Post subject:  NLCA supports self drive and say it is legal

I hear from my contacts in the Limo game that the NLCA have now come out and said it fully supports self drive (dry hire) and say it is legal, even though the insurance companies are dropping it just as I said they would.
He also said that some of the NLCA committee have stated on its forum that self drive has NEVER been done correctly by anyone.
Just shows what a lot of bullshiter they are.
Shows we have been right all along.

Taken from the Front page of the NLCA web site

Quote:
The NLCA are working very closely with the Police, VOSA, vehicle licensing departments and other agencies. We set professional standards our members can aspire to. We have a code of conduct based on respect, integrity and professionalism which is expected of all members when carrying out business with the public.

Slightly selective in what you have put. You missed the bit where is says "if done correctly". Also there have been some court cases where people have been cleared because they have been doing it correctly.
There are a lot of operators who have now had their vehicles COIFfed, I assume that previously they were using self drive, that are now calling for the NLcA to drop their support for self drive.

Those court cases were balls up by VOSA/CPS.

No-one can point to where any court has declared self-drive legal.
