Well, word on the grapevine is that Central voted almost to a man FOR the merger.

However, City's members were less enthiusiastic, they voted the proposed merger down.

Who was the most desperate side of the "marriage" then. And, guess who have stated this all along?

So, no big salary job for Murray then

And he'll still have to go through the election process every year

Then there's the matter of how much all of this has cost Central's members. How many times can Murray cost the company such huge sums of money before his luck runs out and members bin him?

And why did all the big mouthed anonymous members not feel obligated to tell us what happened? They had plenty to say before it?

Feeling shy Travis? Or simply foolish?

Jim T who in their right mind would want to jump into bed with the CRT Committee? You more than most would know the answer to that. The money that they have squandered over the last couple of years. It must have cost every member at least £1000. There was the Executive Travel that took RBS here there and everywhere. What sensible individual would have thought that one out? You couldn't make that one up. Taking work away from the membership and paying for it big time. A double whammy. Then having to pay off staff and keep them sweet before the tribunal. Then of course the battle against you and Garry, QC and all the hangers on and court costs, must have cost at least £50,000. If only the members knew how their money has been squandered. Well done to the City members.

The City Cabs no vote, was against Murray and the CRT committee, not the CRT membership. As long as Murray is on the CRT committee. Any prospect of a merger is dead in the water.

A lot of City Cabs members, don't trust Dod and Les, but they trust Murray even less and there in lies the problem for any merger.

I would have to agree with their sentiments. They are a nest of vipers.

Huge own goal for the trade, but if a third of a membership can't turn up or appoint proxies, that sums things up !

Question now surely is, where does Central go from here? Don't they seem decidedly uncomfortable with their status quo?

City members seem more relaxed, more comfortable with their position. They clearly don't see any real benefits in merging.

Will other players in the market get the cheque books out now?

The City Cabs no vote was a spectacular vote of no confidence in their committee and that of CRT's committee.

The members from both companies I speak to agree that a merger was the right thing to do. What they can't agree on are committees from either side being part of the merger process and continuing to run the new super company in the event a merger becomes a reality.

No one in City Cabs (with half a brain) trusts Dod or Les, but nor do they trust Murray, or the rest of the numpties he presides over.

Before a merger has any chance, committees from both sides would have to agree to stand down.

CRT at it again. Nobody knows how many of their members bothered to vote..........................

The problem is, no one with half a brain takes the 98% for and 2% against seriously. It's a fair point but only if you happen to be a disciple of the CRT membership. I think if Murray told these numpties, he was the Messiah, they would believe him.

It's a bit like the film the Life of Brian, in CRT at this point.

Justice for the 96. It has only taken 27 years...........repeat the same lies for 27 years and the truth sounds strange to people!

The problem is, committeemen on both sides of the divide have no desire to end up back driving taxis. Dod, Les and Murray are desperate to secure permanent salaried positions but that means usurping the power of the members, for themselves.
