Quote: Under new plans card-holders will be able to claim no more than 104 journeys per year, cutting by 30 per cent the number previously available in boroughs such as Southwark. im a bitter and twisted and cynical bstard but sometimes i think maybe, just maybe, too much help is on offer for some. can we simply increase help without cap or restrictions all help for everyone? we are in the grip of a recession, cuts are being made, aircraft carriers scrapped (on the spot) and yet Mobility cars are everywhere, "free" appears on lots more road tax discs, blue badges abound (and some car occupants look decidedly well to me...), schemes like this arent bottomless buckets, and at the end of the day someone has to pay. Volunteer services, free passes, tokens, concessions, etc, etc, etc... No wonder Calais has a backlog of immigrants waiting for the right truck to come along.. Quote: A Taxicard spokeswoman said: “The scheme has increased by 17 per cent in the last three months and there are nearly 100,000 users. We cannot keep expanding.”
