Can you imagine what black cabbies would be saying if it was a minicab outfit?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/jan/0 ... -200-years An extract from the article reads; They learned that the accomplice was 47-year-old Eyad Iktilat, who operated Royal Oak Taxis, which masqueraded as a taxi repair and loan company but was in fact a front for a vast criminal empire. |

Are there that many minicab firms doing £100,000,000 of dodgy deals then?

And WTF has a taxi repair / rental garage got to do with licensed London Taxi drivers? Answer: SFA. Where does it mention licensed drivers?
I'm sure if you ran criminal record checks on everyone that works at Mann and Overton, or KPM Mercedes, you would have a few interesting characters, but none are London cab drivers. |

This is a futile and pointless argument the people convicted were a garage owner and associates including a firefighter lauded for his bravery on 7/7 To suggest that this is in anyway a reflection on the integrity of the hackney or PH trade is ridiculous after all this garage was not servicing black cabs only according to one report I heard they did all sorts of work including black cabs and the money laundering was a sideline using the premises as an exchange point |

Sussex wrote: ![]() Nope, you're confusing the phrase 'cab firm' with what you would expect to find out in county mounty land. They repaired and hired taxis out to drivers, they were'nt a Radio taxi firm. Radio taxi firms in London consist of three big circuits with thousands of taxis on them. |
