Post subject:  CHALLENGE

More plate applications are in the offing boys. The big rentals being charged, £250-£350 can no longer be sustained. The greatly anticipated Sheriff's decision going against the council, will see further applications made, by those drivers (soon to be owners) desperate to gain unfettered access to the tools of their trade.

Some would say, the greedy ba*tards in the trade have created a rod for their own back.

You should have listened to the Skull and Taylor boys. :D

The guys I've spoken to want their own plates. They are waiting to see what the council is going to do with the 72, remaining on the IPL, but are prepared to challenge simply because they can't afford not to. Not only do they need the flexibility to control their own hours and costs. They can no longer pay big rentals for the privilege of working for someone who doesn't want to work.

They just want to be like you Reggie, but maybe with the will to work, a little harder.

You clearly haven't realised that this is about taking Dougie and the rest's plate value from them, just like Dublin. There wo't be anything to sell on. Just like there's nothing that should have been "sold" according to the Law anyway.

It must really grip you that we're doing this to benefit drivers and the customers. You can't get it into your head that we're not interested in selling plates.

There again, any plate in a continued restricted market will be sold to fund the campaign.

Irrespective of any minor victories, we ARE going to win the war. This trade is defo going to be de-restricted. Get used to it.
