I charge that the system, as administered by the Law officers involved, is intent on negating the rights of taxi drivers to operate under the protection of the Law, because of institutional laziness and possibly even a desire not to record crimes which would have an adverse effect on crime statistics. In adopting this position and the flawed operational procedures which support it, not only is Lothian and Borders Police negating the rights of individuals to the protection of the Law, and allowing thieves to get off Scot free, but it is also potentially placing at risk members of the public whose conduct could incite a violent response from those whom they refuse to pay for a legitimately incurred taxi fare. The cops ignored the warning. A cabbie is now in jail Next time - a fatality? |

Here's an idea Why not make an appointment with said inspectors and officals or even go to chap their doors and air your comments to them in person instead of creating a plethora of threads that they'll never answer Then come back and report your feedback |

Problem is we know how they operate. We've engaged with the council, gone along to meet with them - twice. We've sat in from of agent smith. The face of the cops is no less palatable. An inspector investigating the Chief Constable. That's taking the pash. Anyway, we've always been available for sensible discourse.

Do you keep schtum, or do you spill your guts in some vain hope this will garner you favour with Frank, or possibly the Regulatory Committee (RC) at a later date? “Oh Frank, I'm a good little cabby, and I would never say or do anything like that. Frank, why are you dropping your trousers and taking your dick out?”
