In Aberdeen we had a problem recently with the following company "Ethan Hardy" http://www.ethanhardy.co.uk and http://www.aberdeentaxinumbers.co.uk they have scammed the Aberdeen Public by using two of the most popular taxi companies to generate business for a new company. They used Rainbow City Taxis and Com Cabs name but used a different phone number and they all diverted to a company called "Pegasus Taxis" http://www.pegasustaxis.com I also doubt Ethan Hardy actually check that the person signing up is a taxi driver and we could potentially have a rapist or even worse a pedophile. They seem to be driven by greed and will use your business name to get it. So please avoid these scammers. |

Me too. Surely they must have had to license their base with the city council under that name.

![]() It looks awfy like this lot under a different banner, http://www.click-a-cab.co.uk/ We tried them for a very short time, and calls to the number on the page were diverted to our office. They recorded the number of diverts and charged accordingly. We dumped them for various reasons, main one being we got nothing from it. |

![]() To our knowledge, this company has no booking office license from any Scottish council. |

From next Tuesday Trading Standards folks will be able to sort out these bad guys. Although some of the Glasgow lot might find another way.

Reply from Ethan Hardy, taken from aberdeentaxis.co.uk Hello all, Finally I got accepted onto the forum to say hello and put a few things straight... Regarding what is written here - http://aberdeentaxis.freeforums.org/lis ... 7-375.html So let's clear up a few points to put everyone's mind at rest and ensure I stop getting abusive e-mails, telephone calls and such. Everyone is here to make money and monitor the industry and I don't want to be someone who causes grievances with established and respected forum users and drivers alike. First of all, I run Ethan Hardy Ltd, a small company that specialises in website development and marketing. Having realised the potential of internet marketing in the taxi world I setup EdinburghTaxi.co.uk Legally, I am not doing anything wrong and would welcome feedback on where you disagree so I can either reply accordingly or put it right! Afterall, the taxi trade generally comes under scrutiny too often and I don't want to add to that. The way I work is as follows - I operate the website and forward calls to a LICENSED taxi company operating in the area. They service the booking and I get a small commission (and I mean small, I am still working full time). Having met a friend in Aberdeen who operates in the Shire area I expanded to that region. I offered both Comcab and Rainbow the opportunity to receive calls every month prior to this but they both refused, something they may regret as it works and would give you more bookings but that's another matter. Now, because a few drivers and such threw their toys out the pram my friend was summoned by the Hackney Sergeant who gave him the ALL CLEAR to continue operating. Regarding the various websites, I own aberdeentaxi.org.uk and pegasustaxis.com I appreciate the English on the former leaves a lot to be desired it is a website that needs re-done. The latter has been viewed and given the all clear by Kev as we state we operate in the Shire regions. As I merely own the websites I am not responsible for the legality of the taxi side and I hold contracts stating that. I am simply a Yellow Pages but geared specifically towards the taxi trade in various towns and cities. Finally, regarding AberdeenTaxiNumbers.co.uk this is a website I DO NOT OWN OR HAVE CONTROL OVER. Due to an error in copying and pasting information some numbers were incorrectly copied but this has been rectified in a timely manner. Any callers who asked for the relevant company were advised over the telephone it was an error and given the correct number and Russell McLeod of Rainbow can confirm that as he telephoned himself! Moving forward I am not here to step one anyone's toes. I am being open and honest and as I said previously I welcome feedback on what I should change or do differently. But, please bear in mind I don't operate or own a taxi company so anything relating directly to that I have no control over. I hope this thread will find you well and put your minds at rest I am not some internet demon who is out to wreck the industry...not that I could! |

So you think you could get away with, say, www.coke.org.uk ? |
