I know this is a problem up and down the country, here in Chester someone has taken to videoing a particular hotspot. I have personally complained about this area myself but it never seems to make any difference. http://youtu.be/6X3R7DiJxss Maybe someone will take notice now. I have posted this on here because I know our Licensing Officers read this now and again. Maybe if they were out on the Streets more it wouldn`t happen !!!! |

Very good video. Hope you get a result. Have you tried a F.O.I. request for the number of Taxi related, rapes and sexual assaults in the last year in your area. |

Thats not really an issue here, its more to do with Private Hire Vehicles forming illegal ranks and picking up without bookings. |

From what I have heard on the Ranks that has already been done. |

Not bad, but the text at the beginning could have been a bit slower and clearer - I found it difficult to keep up. And I wonder what kind of device was used to take the video - my mobile phone movies are nothing like that quality, but it's not exactly state of the art. |

This is about enforcing bye laws, and also actual law i.e (no legit car insurance). In the event of a department not doing their job of upholding the law! Is there any way of applying to the judiciary to have them stripped of their powers and for another body to take over the role i.e the Police. Neither one of those parties (licensing or the police) are going to want that, so it might just shake them up. |

They need the streets clearing ASAP after the pubs and clubs close, if they enforce their laws there would be loads of people milling about waiting for cabs. |

The busy times are not really the problem here... Its when its quiet the Private Hire rank up cos they have nothing else to do. No one has a problem with them picking up booked jobs but when they make a rank and just pick up without bookings thats when the problems start. |
