Was in today renewing brief. Guy infront of me was trying to apply for new taxi license. I messed up form so filled in other. Whilst doing this guy was filling out his application,we got talking. He told me girl at desk did everything to stop him getting form,told him no plates available and that money would be lost. So was wondering what council was doing about court decision? And should i apply?

No they have not, they cannot afford to appeal and yes you can get your own the woman needs informing that the sheriff said you can Jasbar has his now

Listen, if you intend to stay in the trade and want your licence get together in groups, make your applications, pull your cash together and take the council on. The trades on its ar*e anyway and it's not going to change for a very long time, if at all. At least with your own vehicle you could work when you want, rather than paying some numpty a big rental for unproductive hours. The current rentals, hark back to a time when people had discretionary income. The council is up to its arse in alligators, and have already lost their most recent court case, and they will lose on appeal, if it goes ahead. This is your opportunity to put the boot in. What have you got to lose?

This doesn't mean it will actually happen as the council can pull out at any time. I can't seriously believe they expect to win on appeal. Which might mean they are stalling because of some other political imperative.
