As of the 31st of may i will no longer be a licensed taxi driver so will no longer feel that i have a say on the Dundee taxi trade.
I hope no one judges me on my decision not to renew my badge but my family comes first.

Good luck on what ever your going to turn your hand to in the future...If a reasonable job offer came along i think Id be out of the people moving game as well...I cant blame ya mate!!

I would always renew my badge even if I had absolutely no intention of ever driving a cab again.

No-one knows what is around the corner. :-$

I have to agree with Sussex.

Once again I find myself in disgreement with Stationtone.

"I may disagree with what you say but I defend your right to say it" - Voltaire

A fresh perspective from outwith the trade might just let him see that what we are seeking for the trade is no more than already exists outwith it.With all his experience he has every rght to comment on the taxi trade. I hope he continues to do so.

Anyway, he's just doing what many of us would wish to. But can't.

And that really is the nub here in Edinburgh.

Our council knows that denying us our right to drive our own taxi delivers us up as chattels for the privileged few.

That's what our supposed democracy really delivers.

That's the situation that exists in this supposed "best small country int he world".

And we're supposed to accept this and allow the scottish nasty party to deliver us into their hands by breaking away from the Union. So that the scottish nasty party scumbags can ram us with impunity.

I would echo that; 'don't burn your boats and bridges'!!

And good luck in whatever you do in the future.

Everything has its time stationtone, and those who realise this don't look back. If this chapter of your life is truly finished then bury it along with the badge. You can't move on with one foot in the past.

I wish you all the best and hope that the future is good to you and your family.

My official signing out date is the end of August, when my Licence is up for renewal. It's not that I haven't already left but there is something in making it official.

So tell us all mycab, how doe's your life benefit from stationtone's departure? How will it make your existence a little more bearable knowing that Stationtone is no longer in the trade? If I were you, and thankfully I'm not, I would be having a hard look at myself. :-|
