London minicab driver convicted of rape after leaving receipt at crime scene




A minicab driver who carried out a brutal rape on a teenage girl was easily caught after he accidentally left a petrol station receipt at the scene.

Masood Ahmed, 26, of Seaforth Avenue, New Malden, was convicted at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday, of two counts of rape, one of making a threat to kill and one count of assault by penetration.

He was acquitted of one further count of assault by penetration.

In the early hours of Friday, August 13, the 18 year old victim was walking home along Parvis Road, in West Byfleet following a night out with friends in Woking.

Ahmed grabbed her from behind and forced her into the woodland at the side of the road, where he put his hands around her throat and threatened to kill her if she did not do what she was told.

He also pulled out a small pocket knife before sexually assaulting and raping her.

During the violent attack, Ahmed threatened to kill her if she tried to escape.

Ahmed then forced her to walk barefoot further into the woods and once again threatened to kill her if she told anyone what had happened. He then fled the scene.

The teenager made her way back to Parvis Road, where she flagged down a taxi and immediately contacted the police.

As police examined the area they found a number of the victim's belongings as well as a receipt for the Esso petrol station on the northbound A3 at Robin Hood Way, Kingston.

CCTV from the station showed Ahmed buying petrol at 7pm on Thursday, August 12, just hours before the attack.

It also revealed that he was driving a blue Audi A6 which was registered to a London minicab firm.

Within hours, he was arrested in Putney.

Initially he told Surrey police officers that the 18 year old had flagged him down and asked for money before grabbing paperwork from his car including the receipt. He later changed his story and claimed that she had offered him sex for money.

The minicab firm confirmed that Ahmed had been assigned a job at midnight on Thursday, August 12 to take a passenger to West Byfleet.

Ahmed denied all charges.

He is due to be sentenced on Monday, August 22.

whilst agreeing that the guy who did this is a nasty picece of work, I cant understand how the racists on this site seem to generalise so much.

and as for the "its in thier culture" comment, so when a white british person is abusive, violent etc on a saturday night ( like they mostly are ).

then by your peoples reckoning its also pretty fair to say that its part of your culture....

They are, in the main, saying it as they see it.

It's not right to play the numbers game, as the vast majority of drivers are as clean as clean can be.

However ignoring the bad guys, from whatever background, wont improve the situation.

It has been a part of British culture for years mate. You go out on a Saturday night, you get [edited by admin], have a kebab, then a fight and finally abuse the taxi driver on the way home. Yes that is British culture, always has been and always will be.
