Post subject:  CCTV in a Hackney (Peugeot E7)

a couple of weeks back, about 1am, a young man suddenly said.

"I've got a Blade in my hand. Turn into the School Yard." ~ Queen Margaret's opposite Kincaidston, which was his destination.

As he said that, I felt his hand at my throat. Suffice it to say, I disabled him and took him to King Street, where he was arrested.

He's been charged with Vandalising the Taxi and Resisting Arrest, but not with Threatening me, which he denies. His word against mine ~ apparently. The Police Officer, handling the Case says that without Proof, there is little that they can do.

So I am putting in a CCTV System.

Any advice on: What's good ~ What's useless ~ What'll stand up in Court ~ What won't ~ What Regulations need to be followed ~ Which ones one can safely forget and, of course ~ the Cost.

All advice will be welcomed and all comments from the Trolls, ignored.

There's all kinds of CCTV out there from<£100 to whatever you can afford. My first stop would be the LO and see if there's any policy in place in your LA. If not go for something that has the recorder seperate from the camera. That way if the scrotes try to be clever and rip the camera out, you still have the evidence in the boot/under the seat/glovebox whatever.

That's bollocks.

In a huge number of incidences, including most domestic violence cases, it's one version against another, yet they nearly always make court.

The scumbag you encountered has already excepted he committed two offences, and that will indicate to the court what kind of character he is.

Don't except it, contact the police again and insist that that charge is put before the court, and let them decide on the guilt or otherwise, not some copper who is a tad miffed filling in a few more forms.

Try the Chief Constable first.

Whatever system you choose, and TBH they all seem the same to me, make sure you have a little screen where punters can see themselves on it.

Absolute massive deterrent.

Don't bother. You'd be wasting your time. End of.
