Apparently when you got over the tops towards Milnrow it got worse and it was blizzard like conditions on the M62.

You can tell by the the photo of the actual weather that things were not that bad. The situation was however made much worse by the fact the alternative routes, i.e Glossop's Woodhead and Snake pass, were closed from very, very early morning.

well at least the Rutland Puddle is a couple of feet higher today after 24 hours of non stop RAIN failed to bring the A1 to a halt

I do wish the media wouldn't hype it up I don't have to drive the M62 very often but as toots says it's always like that I doubt the white rain made much difference
