ON THE SUBJECT OF FIRE ENGINES.
THESE VEHICLES ARE NOT LICENCED AS THEY FALL INTO THE CATEGORY OF BUSSES.
If you look at the state of buses,i think we are 100% better mentained,and more public safety,as carrying children.

Our vehicles must be stored in secure premises.(unlike a taxi that can sit in the street)-insurance

We have to have a bus mot, taxed as a bus and insurance is double the cost of a taxi insurance because we carry children,why we all carry children.
We must have 24 hour rescue service.-insurance

We are not allowed in the bus lanes.-police

We must have seat belts fitted and used on every child(not inforced by taxi drivers,we inforce it)-police

I would be clad if they would licence us then we may solve all our nighmares at rush hour,as we would be able drive a 5 mph threw the city (ps this might hold you guys up from making your hard earnd cash)

Also we bring tourists into the city who use ure taxis to get to hotels.

:roll: :shock: :roll: Words very nearly fail me on this one!!!!! Don't know if its a wind-up plus it has more spelling mistakes than Wharfie :lol: However, I'm sure all of us would love to see the relevant operating conditions this person is talking about. Classed as buses eh? Its getting late I need sleep !!!! 8) 8) 8)

So do you have planned routes, are you drivers CRB checked, do you have a license for the alcohol, cos you will need one when the new licensing laws come out.

The point we are making on TDO, isn't that you are taking away customers from the licensed HC/PH trade, as far as I'm concerned you can have those screaming cows, but in my unprofessional view you are not legal.

If you take less than 9 customers then you need to be licensed as a HC or a PH, unless you are part of a big bus company, whereas I believe you are allowed a few 8 or less seaters, to compliment your fleet.

It may look fun, it may make you a few quid, I couldn't care less about that, but if and when you have an accident, your insurance company may well try to wriggle free.

ACCIDENTS ARE MOSTLY CAUSED BY DANGEROUS DRIVING-FAST SPEED
TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK AT YOUR INDUSTRY.STICK TO THE SPEED LIMITS-DONT OVERLOAD .

HOW MANY TAXIS IN FATAL CARE CRASHES.........
SO STOP TALKING ABOUT ACCIDENTS.

Which is exactly why some in our trade are trying to improve standards of vehicles and drivers.
