Taxi Driver Online

I was thinking of taking over an HC taxi in Lincoln that I have been offered, does anyone know what its like for work in that area? I have spent a bit of time watching the ranks and to be honest the railway station rank always seems to be busy but there is another rank next to it on the main road and customers never seem use it. I did speak to one of the drivers on the station and he said that I had to pay for a 'station pass' and that the other rank was for those that don't have the pass? I would appreciate any comments from anyone in the know. Just finished my night shift here and its dead. I drive a PH at the moment in Nottingham but moving with family to Lincoln.

The person to ask would be jimbo, hes in Lincoln, but why go to the expense, just do what they do in Manchester and get a Gedling hackney and work for a base in Lincoln ?

As he is a PH in Nottingham, he may already be on a Gedling Hackney plate.

But it all depends on how much the plate and cab are, how old the cab is, why the mush is selling, and do you really want to work with Jimbo?

Thanks guys. ill take your comments on board. The cab available is a TX2 and the guy is selling as he's moving away? I don't want to be on a circuit anymore, just like the idea of being independent after working my butt off for someone else for the last 13 years. Lincoln seems a nice place for a family so it all fits really, don't know about licence to print money wont make myself known to jimbo just yet as still not got the plate.

There's only one TX2 in Lincoln that I wouldn't sell to my worst enemy. It's a two tone pile of crap. (Silver and rust!) also, the owner will never move away. He's the only Gray in the village!

By the way, watch out for the odd couple, when you do get your plate, they do love running to the transport police to grass up other drivers for doing illegal left turns off the station, even though they frequently do the same thing themselves. They were both convicted last year for a driving without insurance thing. Funny eh?
