Taxi marshals are funded umpteen different ways.

Councils fund sometime (out of licensing fees), police sometimes and central government grants sometime.

There is a piece of legalisation going through our parliament which would allow councils to charge nightclubs/bars for such things as taxi marshals.

And IMO that's correct, as they reap the rewards from selling the stuff they should fund the cleaning up.

At the moment as per other posts - Cardiff Hackneys have been lumped with an extra £100 per driver to fund the Marshall scheme. The reasoning being is - The Partnership can no longer afford it!!!!!!!!
